The tasks a SEMAN owner is required to perform are as follows:

  2. Sail, navigate, and maintain the SEMAN in its search for the best energy harvesting conditions.
  3. Operate and maintain the energy harvesting and conversion equipment aboard the SEMAN.

  1. Grow food using soil free methods. Also grow fish and shellfish using aquaculture methods.
  2. Care for the equipment needed to harvest energy from wind, waves and sun.
  3. Convert energy harvested into easily transported and marketed forms such as fertilizer.
  4. Study weather patterns and determine where the best operating areas on the ocean are and where the weather is dangerous.
  5. Navigate to the optimum operating areas and take up a good energy harvesting position.
  6. Determine profitable work that can be done over the Internet and accomplish that work to improve your profit margin.

Note that the following things are required to ensure economic viability of the SEMAN:

  1. Must grow enough food to feed the occupants of the SEMAN.
  2. Must make enough money from energy sales and internet work to cover SEMAN mortgage, parts, internet fees, certain food staples, and some luxuries.[/private]
